Strategic Meeting Planning Specialist

Overview:

UL is seeking a Strategic Meeting Planning Specialist responsible for two main areas: (1) To plan, project manage, and support C-level meetings for the CEO, SVPs and Corporate Marketing, all of which include domestic and global travel to these assigned programs, and (2) To help build, operationalize, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the meetings management department as a service (Strategic Meetings Management Program) within UL.

As meeting planner and project manager, this role will work directly with UL's CEO and other C-Suite executives. The role reports to UL's Global Manager, Strategic Meetings Management Program (SMMP) and will also assist in growing and overseeing UL's overall SMMP and team to create brand integrity and consistency, and organizational alignment, savings, and value for the company's meetings and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning of strategic meetings including but not limited to site selection visits, produce RFPs, bids and analysis for meeting host and work in conjunction with Meetings and Events Sourcing Specialist to negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Partners with hosts to ensure that UL's Brand is presented and communicated in a positive way.
  • Provides structure, framework and processes to enable Executive team to host and execute successful meetings and events.
  • Performs other duties as directed.


Qualifications:

  • University degree (equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in Hospitality or a related field
  • Minimum eight to ten years of full-time experience exclusively in a meeting planning role
  • Extensive experience with corporate meeting planning and C-suite and/or other mission-critical meetings
  • International meeting planning experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as client-interfacing skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs both assisted and unassisted
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
A plus:
  • CMP and/or CMM designation
  • Supervisory or people management experience
  • Cvent experience
