Job Summary

This public health professional will participate in the academic, research and service programs
of the Division of Public Health Dentistry, Department of Oral Health Science and help develop
community partnerships and programs to strengthen applied disparities and delivery systems
research and funding. Important collaborative leadership relationships are with the new UK
Center for Oral Health Research, the UK College of Public Health, and the Kentucky Cabinet for
Health and Family Services. This individual will work with other faculty and staff In the Division
to increase funding to strengthen educational, service and research programs for the Division
ad to improve overall scholarly productivity for the Division, consistent with the University’s
goals to achieve top twenty status.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of this position will be distributed among instructional, service and research
activities in support of the College of Dentistry’s education, service and research missions.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Provide leadership for the mobile dental program.
2. Provide leadership to maintain and strengthen collaborative community-based programs.
3. Provide public health and or dental care services in community-based settings as part of dental outreach and research program.
4. Teach and direct appropriate division, college and university courses.
5. Collaborate with the different divisions at the College of Dentistry to foster the dental education program.
6. Help in the development of grant and contract applications for health disparities and health services research.
7. Publish scholarship and research results.
8. Present scholarship and research results at state, national and international meetings.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

Advanced education in pediatric dentistry is preferable.
A master’s degree in public health is highly desirable.
Experience with an academic institution is preferable.
