The hiring range for this role is:  

78,638.00 - 110,285.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range andthis hiringrange may also be modified in the future. A candidate’s position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for annual bonusincentivepay.

Consultant, Strategy and Analytics - The Consultant is responsible for assisting in the design, execution and write-up of research and analysis on key healthcare and health policy issues to provide information and insights on health and healthcare costs, use and trends, for BCBSA and BCBS Plans to support decision-making in areas including public policy, benefit design, healthcare delivery and resource allocation. This position applies analytical experience with healthcare claims data and other behavioral, demographic and economic data to help manage and analyze large data sets using both descriptive statistics and sophisticated quantitative techniques. It also requires the ability to research health related topics through secondary sources. The Consultant supports presenting and discussing findings with research colleagues and with non-technical audiences to build understanding, gather input and feedback and to support publicizing the information. This position interacts with a wide range of internal and external clients from senior leaders to data programmers and builds effective business relationships across all levels. The Consultant participates with internal staff to resolve data structuring and integration issues and uses knowledge of research and analysis techniques to help develop solutions.

Research and analysis – Use analytic tools to analyze large data sets and help summarize key findings in writing and by visualizing with tables, charts and graphs to illustrate important patterns of health, cost and utilization and their trends over time. Conduct secondary research on the topic being investigated and summarize findings to provide context and information from other sources to add support and explanation for the data.

Communication - Develop concise, complete and accurate written information to: Develop components of presentation materials to describe and explain research results and their implications, align presentation components with overall presentation approach which varies depending on purpose / audiences

Deliver oral presentations effectively, adjusting to the interest and knowledge level of audiences.

Support provision of precise, accurate and insightful oral descriptions of research objectives and methodologies and be prepared to respond with appropriate information to questions raised by audiences. 30%

Project Management-Organize and coordinate work to manage two to four small projects to help meet interim and final deadlines

Provide clear and timely updates to teammates and project manager to communicate progress and status

Alert project manager if work is off track and participate in problem solving to get back on track.

Prioritize across multiple projects and re-set priorities based on changing circumstances

• Manage multiple projects to meet interim and final deadlines with quality deliverables

Education

Bachelors Degree

  • 2-3 years of experience in quantitative research and analysis addressing health care / health policy issues
  • Experience working with large data sets and resolving data management, integration and validation issues
  • Experience organizing and synthesizing quantitative data results to identify key findings for business audiences
