Director, Partnership for Abortion Provider Safety

About Physicians:
Physicians for Reproductive Health unites the medical community and concerned supporters. Together, we work to improve access to comprehensive reproductive health care, including contraception and abortion, especially to meet the health care needs of economically disadvantaged patients.

  • We bring the physician’s distinctive voice to debates over reproductive health care
  • We provide leadership and tools so that physicians can speak up and take action
  • We use scientific expertise and our patients’ real-life experiences to influence legislation, medical practice, and public opinion
  • We advocate for reproductive health as a core part of all medical curricula
  • We train doctors to educate their colleagues and other health professionals on best practices in reproductive and sexual health care
  • We offer the strength of our network to physicians all over the world

Position Summary
The mission of the Partnership for Abortion Provider Safety is to offer all providers of abortion care the resources they need to be safer, personally and professionally. The urgency for this program was made clear after “sting videos” were illegally published in July of 2016, maligning abortion providers and putting their safety at risk. Physicians for Reproductive Health identified the need to organize a partnership made up of reproductive health, rights, and justice leaders to assess provider safety and create a program to support abortion providers. The goal of this partnership is to create a “hub” of up-to-date useful, accessible, and sustainable resources for providers throughout the U.S. This Director-level position will set and guide the strategy to lead this effort and bring the “hub” to fruition.

This is a full-time overtime-exempt position. This position is open to a remote work model for candidates outside New York, or under a hoteling work model (a flexible combination of in-office and work-from-home days) for candidates in New York. The office is located in midtown Manhattan, and relocation assistance is not available at this time.

We offer a full comprehensive compensation and benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage paid 90% by the organization. Physicians also offers an HRA, 401k match, cell
phone stipend, life insurance, AD&D, STD, LTD, transit and parking benefits, FSA, and a generous vacation and holiday policy.
