Job Summary

This person will assist in orientation sessions in Boone and Kenton County Adult Education for the GED program. They will track student progress and meet one-on-one to help fast-track students complete the GED. They will also attend outside events to help promote the GED program. This person will be required to work on-campus to fulfill these duties. They must also score a 12.9 on the Reading and Math TABE and pass all GED Ready Test Exams.

Job Duties:

  • Knowledgeable of reading, writing, and GED-level Math instructional strategies.
  • Administer and interpret TABE and GED Ready Test results to make an appropriate plan for each GED student.
  • Assist with entering data from orientation as well as student data during non-orientation times.
  • Meet with students one-on-one as needed to help complete the GED in any subject area.
  • Attend community events to help advertise the GED program.
  • Prep all orientation materials (already been created by program staff.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).
  • BA in related field and 2 years of experience.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
