This position is located at the Northwest Health District Office in Rome, Georgia.  This position is an unclassified, full-time position working 40 hours per week.  Please complete your online application with current and previous employment details and work experience.

Job Responsibilities

Job Summary

Under general supervision, promotes, maintains and improves individual and community health for the opioid and HIV prevention programs by assisting individuals and communities in adopting healthy behaviors.  Collects and analyzes data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies, and environments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with health specialists and civic groups to ascertain community health needs, determine availability of services, and to develop goals
  • Conducts community surveys to ascertain health needs, develop desirable health goals, and determine availability of professional health services
  • Develops and maintains cooperation between public, civic, professional, and voluntary agencies
  • Plans and provides educational opportunities for health personnel
  • Prepares and disseminates educational and informational materials
  • Promotes health discussions in schools, industry, and community agencies
  • Provides information to the public regarding health concerns and resources
  • Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in public health education from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in public health education

 CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. CBH may contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
 
 The District Human Resource Department must receive an official transcript and/or proof of licenses, certifications prior to employment.
