Patient Care Coordinator, Front Desk - NKDHC Las Vegas Central Office

As an empathic and compassionate team player, we will rely on you to transport patients to and from the Access Center as directed, as well as perform general office and clerical duties and ensure the efficient functioning of the front office. In this role, you will be greatly responsible for the flow of communication throughout the facility, by performing the following duties:

  • Check in patients efficiently collecting and recording co-pays and appropriate insurance information
  • Provide financial counseling to patients as needed
  • Prepare new patient charts and process all phase of chart preparation in a timely manner
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with primary care physicians and referring physician offices
  • Monitor dictation process by maintaining accurate dictation logs, ensuring physician review and signature, mailing report and scanning dictation into patient files
  • Complete clerical tasks including but not limited to distributing mail and reports, filing, scanning, scheduling, data input, answering phones and general support to all office personnel
  • Maintain office equipment, office and medical supplies through efficient inventory management
  • Facilitate annual purging process of patient charts
  • Process medical record requests for patients, referring physician offices and attorneys
  • Process Hospital Disposition Report
  • Mail recall and no-show letters to patients; follow up with patients and/or primary care physician as needed
  • Obtain consult information, relay as needed and confirm consult completion with physician

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 years of experience with administrative/clerical duties and patient transportation
  • Current Basic Life Support and CPR Certifications
  • Valid Nevada State driver's license
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
