Physical Requirements

Work performed in a typical office environment, constant phone and computer usage. Position entails frequent sitting for long periods of time, walking, and standing.



Shift

Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, work beyond standard hours is required for an exempt position.



Job Summary

This position is responsible for and plans, organizes, and manages the procurement process for all UK HealthCare procurement duties handled in the University of Kentucky Central Procurement. This individual will be responsible for staff that purchase goods and services. The individual must be well organized, detail oriented, motivated and possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and excellent human relations/interpersonal skills. This individual is responsible for administering and interpreting purchasing law, and frequently interacts with executive administrators.

Important Note: This position is relevant to operations of UK HealthCare (UKHC) and follows requirements for UKHC administrative regulation A09-055 for Plan B staffing during University emergencies. Employees are considered designated employees unless specifically exempted. Employee shall be notified of their status at the time of hire and during annual evaluations and will be required to sign Attachment A as requirement for the administrative regulation A09-055.

There is an internal employee being considered for this position (IEBC).
