Overview

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for establishing a sales plan, preparing a monthly forecast and selling communication and electronic products within a geographic territory.

Nature & Scope

Reporting to the Area Vice President, this position creates demand for our communications products by finding project opportunities and working with our distribution channel to successfully win business. This position may supervise agents and has significant interaction with end-users, contractors, and distributors. The successful candidate will be required to work in a team environment with a Panduit Company sales leader. (This position generates $6-7 million in communication sales annually).

Responsibilities

  • Establish primary relationships with our customer (Enterprise & Electrical Distributors) and maintain an ethical and professional relationship with all customer and external contacts.
  • Strive to "Exceed the Numbers"
  • Develop new projects and opportunities .
  • Develop and maintain customer programs and suggested pricing levels.
  • Coordinate product training schedules with our customers.
  • Close coordination with product market managers, including pricing decisions, product introduction, and inventory decisions.
  • Analyze market to determine channel strategy and alignment.
  • Coordinate customer needs with the appropriate internal departments, such as credit, manufacturing, engineering, etc.
  • Participate in regional trade shows (coordinate and set-up).
  • Coordinate customer discrepancies and returns with product management and credit department.
  • Conduct product training programs as required at customer locations.
  • Generate market intelligence.
  • Assist in development of sales plans, operational plans, and strategic plans.
  • Fully communicate and coordinate our customer's needs and concerns.
  • Develop programs to identify market segments and preferred account base.


Qualifications

  • Persistent, stick-to-it mentality, and a self-starter: ability to deal with volatile,unstructured environment. Not easily deterred.
  • Flexible personality, able to adjust as priorities change.

  • Good analytical skills, especially in engineering.
  • Good PC and systems skills
  • Willing to work long hours; high energy level translated to others; passionate.
  • Gets along easily across functions, works well with customers.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills (oral and written)
  • Self-starter, energetic, with ability to think outside the box
  • Demonstrated ability to sell/meet forecasts
  • High motivation
  • BA/BS
  • RCDD preferred
  • Valid drivers license
  • 2-5 years direct sales experience
  • Knowledge of product/industry
