This position will require you to stand for extended periods of time; perform repetitive motion tasks, lift objects up to 10lbs; and effectively communicate with individuals for diverse backgrounds.

Job Summary

The College of Health Sciences is seeking a Research Analyst to work with Dr. Allison Owen in the Center for Muscle Biology. This position aims to bring a knowledgeable and enthusiastic team member to support the Owen lab’s efforts in understanding mechanisms of muscle pathology in survivors of critical illness.

The Research Analyst will become part of a collaborative team performing state-of-the-art cellular and molecular analyses of muscle samples obtained from patient biopsies as well as preclinical models. The Analyst will primarily be involved in gathering, analyzing and interpreting data, while secondary responsibilities will include assisting with management of the rodent colony and performing lab management duties. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful research while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

This position is grant funded and will have guaranteed funding for 2 years with anticipation of additional funding through submission of additional grants.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, ability to work independently, and knowledge and experience in biochemistry and microscopy.

Masters degree plus one or more years related lab experience preferred.
