Summary of Position

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and deployment of our consumer-facing streaming application on the WebTV platform. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure that the product and its features meet all functional and quality standards. You will also contribute to automation testing efforts and support the implementation of test methods and procedures to verify the functionality and performance of our client application.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed test cases, including meaningful test steps, acceptance criteria, and expected results, based on functional requirements and UI/UX comps.
  • Execute testing efforts to ensure the application meets high standards of performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Develop and maintain the automation testing suite, collaborating with other Automation Engineers to maximize the reusability of automation scripts across projects.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle.
  • Participate in ad hoc and exploratory testing beyond pre-existing test cases and user stories.
  • Utilize risk-based testing approaches to prioritize testing efforts.
  • Analyze and report test results, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations to the development team.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in frontend web application testing, implementing new techniques to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work independently.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business, Technical field, or a related discipline; minimum of five years of software/quality assurance testing experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Cypress or other frontend test automation tools for regression testing and data validation of web applications.
  • Extensive experience in TV, set-top-box, or console device testing.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite, including JIRA, Confluence, and Zephyr (preferred).
  • Media and entertainment industry experience (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with streaming applications or media content delivery platforms (preferred).
  • Knowledge of network protocols, video codecs, and DRM technologies (a plus).

Compensation

$109,000 - $172,400
