The Rad Tech/Mammographer will also take part in Quality Improvement and Quality Control activities.Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>Performs Diagnostic Mammography Tech/X-Ray examination following department protocol and utilizing technical factors to ensure the highest quality result within ACR guidelines.</li><li>Produces copies of Radiographic &amp; Mammographic images as needed, of film or CD.</li><li>Follows Radiation safety procedures on all exams keeping them ALARA.</li><li>Appropriately utilizes shields to reduce exposure to patient.</li><li>Sets technical factors to reduce patient exposure and produce high quality images.</li><li>Performs Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing on the Mammography unit as mandated by the state of Massachusetts and ACR.</li><li>GE Essential daily, weekly, &amp; monthly QC, as applicable:</li><li>Viewbox cleaning</li><li>Phantom Testing</li><li>Compression test</li><li>Rotate and cover shifts as department and patient care needs change.</li><li>Interacts with patients and other staff in a manner that reflects respect of the needs and concerns of the individual.</li><li>Assists in Clerical duties including but not limited to patient data input, scheduling patients, updating as needed, preparing exams for reading and filling.
