Responsible for patient care of assigned patients under the general direction of the Emergency Department Medical Director with direct supervision by the Attending Physician and primary Registered Nurse.Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>Observes, recognizes and reports signs and symptoms which require emergency treatment, initiates measures and/or first aid.</li><li>Accurately obtains, records and reports vital signs and rechecks as indicated and reports abnormal findings to primary nurse, charge nurse or physician.</li><li>Sets up equipment for and/or assists physicians/clinicians with treatments, dressings, tests as assigned.</li><li>Performs 12 lead EKG.Documents patient information, and gives EKG promptly to appropriate nurse and physician.</li><li>Establishes and maintains IVs and hangs fluids according to physician orders.</li><li>Administers medications via the following routes: Oral, sublingual, nebulizer, IM, SC, ETT, IV Infusion and IV Push in critical situations.</li></ul>Qualifications and Requirements:<ul><li>Graduate of an approved Paramedic Training program.&nbsp; Certification as an EMT-P preferred.&nbsp; Certification in ACLS, BLS and PALS required.</li><li>This job requires ability to perform the following: Prolonged standing and walking.
