What we need

We are seeking a strong Environmental Health and Safety Training Manager who brings experience supportingnational multi-site operations organization. This individual will need to have previous EHS training, program development and enhancement experience. You will be responsible foridentifyingthe policies, and procedure to support our Symboticteams' members working at our customer distribution centers. Theideal candidate will have knowledge and experience from a manufacturing or warehouse industry.

The EHS Training Manager is part of the Manufacturing Operations organization; the EHS team is responsible formaintaining and improving the overall safety and performance of the organization.The EHS organization drives compliance with regulations, fosters a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and social consciousness, while buildingastrong stakeholder relationshiptodrive a culture of Safety atSymbotic.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the key EHS Training liaison for the Manufacturing, Customer & Construction sites. 
  • Lead in the execution of the strategic and tactical EHS training plans. 
  • Implement behavioral based training programs.  
  • Manage Symbotic online training management system through Workday Learning. 
  • Provide training for all required stakeholders across different working sites, shift and time zones.
  • Develop, coordinate and/or conduct overall EH&S training program. 
  • Create EHS training program, procedure and policy.  
  • Interpret safety standards, health codes, and regulations. 
  • Organize, conduct, and support management in program audits, inspections, and risk assessment activities. 
  • Assist in the development of corporate safety policies and the safety management system. 
  • Ensure accurate reporting of local safety program information, status of incidents, and progress or deficiencies. 
  • Coordinate Safety Committee Activity in all areas of Symbotic safety.  
  • Create EHS Training KPI and report.  
  • Conduct monthly Safety Audits. 
  • Conduct Monthly Safety Plant-wide Meeting with all Team Members. 

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or related field 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Occupational Safety & Health (automotive or manufacturing environment, preferred).  
  • ASP or CSP preferred.
  • Proven results with Worker’s Compensation.
  • Experience on ISO 45001 implementation a plus.
  • Experience in EHS training and auditing required.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Trainer Certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated professional with passion for change and relentless focus on execution. 
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical, problem solving and human relations skills 
  • Must be highly organized; able to prioritize and meet target dates in a very fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of plant operations/ability to work on a manufacturing floo.r
  • Ability to execute on business and customer needs through strong prioritization, attention to detail, cross-functional collaboration, influence, and the ability to drive change. 

Our Environment 

  • Travel is required up to 50% of the time. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.  
  • The employee is responsible to own a credit card and manage expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.  
  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms   
  • The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl   
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds   
  • Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.  
  • Approximately 75% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness)   
  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.  
  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground   
  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
