Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs UIW Mission Position Summary The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) seeks a mission-oriented, people-centered leader with the ability to work collaboratively across a complex institution as its next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. In 1881, the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word founded Incarnate Word College as a center of higher education for young women in San Antonio, TX. The College was admitted to membership in the Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools in 1919 and joined the Texas Association of Colleges as a senior college in 1920. Today, UIW is the largest Catholic university in Texas and serves approximately 10,000 students globally. UIW is a Hispanic-Serving Institution with 54% of its students coming from Hispanic/Latino heritage. The institution has grown into a large, complex university with 11 colleges and schools that offer more than 125 majors, minors, and concentrations at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Small Interactive Groups Facilitator (2024-2025 Academic Year) UIW Mission Position Summary The University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) invites Part-Time Faculty candidates for Small Interactive Groups Facilitator. This position is responsible for guiding and evaluating the SIGS process. Small Group Interactive Sessions (SIGS) are a cornerstone of the first two years of UIWSOM's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) curriculum. During the first two years, learners meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in small groups with a faculty process facilitator. Candidates who are selected for the position must successfully complete the SIGS facilitator training program.
